I agree. But I've given people plenty of opportunities to join in and it seems some people only like to be a part of the group to say they're part of a group. Hopefully when we have more activities going we'll see more people.

when you do have the wand workshop, instead of taking on the job of buying all the supplies yourself, ask people to bring things they like, plus a few extra to swap, then everyone has extras and can swap for something that someone else has. That way the financial burden is not on one person and there isn't a fee.
I like using found objects a lot. But I have lots of crafting supplies and can bring a few extras of things. I also like using copper wire to fasten things like beads and crystals on, as copper is a conductor. Something handy to have when working with found objects is a dremel drill, to put holes through wood/shells/nuts.
just some ideas. this is a good activity to include tweens and teens in too.

ps: I am actually on facebook way more than here. I forget to come here as my kid is after me every time I sit down at the computer, so usually I only get a chance to read email, check facebook and then I'm off. I already liked the facebook page for this group but it's not very active there, so if you are on facebook and want to, feel free to friend me there. I'll PM my name to anyone that wants to.

Yea, I'll add you as a friend! I'm on Facebook a lot too. Since I'm a stay-at-home-mom, I'm on here and there a lot.

when I first started my pagan path/searching, a bunch of folks I hung out with (we'd all taken a wicca 101 class together and stuck together to share info and learn stuff) got together regularly to do things, including making stuff. One of the things we made were masks using plaster cast stuff and decorating them. I've also made sage and lavendar smudge sticks, a clay pentacle for the altar, diety figures, offering dishes and some other things. I *love* making things. Now I'm thinking about things my son and I can make.

I don't know if the idea is dead or not, but it does sound like a good idea. As does just making things in general. Maybe with a little bit of rallying, more people will get involved. It'd be a cool chance to get to know everyone.

I agree with strawberry.... it would be a great way for us all to get to know one another and also make a great tool to use with hopefully great emotions from its creation

This sounds wonderful! If we can get a group together, I would love for all of us to meet at a park or something and have a little workshop- especially before it starts getting cold this fall!

. . . I could bring food, too. And like it was said about supplies earlier, we could all pitch in. I'm sure between everyone, there's all sorts of goodies. ("Meet and Wand Making 101"? That should most definitely be the official name. Lol!)
