I am wanting to learning more about Wicca and Paganism. I want to know what books are the best places to start for the history and the "Bible" as a Pagan? I was raised Christian but it doesn't make sense to me and reading their bible confuses me because of how it was written, not to mention that each Pope can have it changed. So Please let me know where I should start.

I would recommend A History of the Devil by Gerald MessadiƩ. He goes into the research involved with trying to find any devil figure in ancient Paganism, along with the beginnings of Zoroastrianism (which began the monotheistic religions we see today). It's a wonderful read and very informative.

I was hoping more people would be able to shed some light on different books. I am planning on buying whatever I get that should the full histories of our lineage as The Other People and books with rituals why they are performed ect. I want my family to start having a religious practice but need to learn more about it before I attempt to involve my small Children that are being taught to pray to god at day care. Who see Christmas but thank the goddess only see Santa in it. I have read the book "The path of a Christian Witch," and I like what the lady says in it about her journey I just wish we had a wiccan/pagan school church what ever here to learn like she did in Canada.

One of my first books was Raymond Bucklands Complete book of Witchcraft (AKA the big blue book)
Some people like his books and others dont just depends. The book is writted out like a study or text book to help you learn. It starts off with the history and then jumps in to how to begin, chooseing a magic name, making tools and alters, it has alot of information as well as a few recomendations for other books to help you learn.
