Ok, so the July meeting is set for the 17th, again at 1:00 at my house in East Moline. The address is 830 1st Ave, Lot 136.
If coming from I-80 in LeClaire:
1. Take exit 1 for IL-84 toward E Moline/Savanna 2. Turn left onto IL-84 S 3. Turn right onto 18th Ave 4. Continue onto 16th Ave 5. Turn right onto 7th St and take the immediate left turn lane to stay on 7th St. 6. Turn right onto 2nd Ave and we are the yellow house on the left side.
If coming from I-74 in Davenport:
1. Take exit 1 for River Dr 2. Turn right onto River Dr 3. Continue onto 12th Ave (When you've exited Moline and entered East Moline, the road becomes 12th Ave) 4. Turn left onto 7th St and take the immediate left turn lane to stay on 7th St. 5. Turn right onto 2nd Ave and we are the yellow house on the left side.
Now, I need a few suggestions for topics so that I can created a poll for everyone to vote on what the topic for the July meeting should be. Anyone?

Yes, Glen, but some people might not be interested in showing up unless they know IF it's on a day where they can make it and if it's a topic they might be interested in.

We could discuss a magical topic. Such as the use of color in different forms of magic or using nature in magic (herbs, trees, wind, etc).
Perhaps talk about the Greek, Celtic, Egyptian, Sumerian, etc deities.
Also, you can't expect members to show up all the time. They have lives that are busy and unpredictable. Also meeting at someone's home that is unknown to them is not always a comfortable situation. Perhaps, if the weather is nice, we can meet at a public park. It is open and public and might comfort a few people. We could bring blankets and drinks and enjoy a meeting surrounded by nature. Just an idea.

I do like that idea and we have talk about go to a park but I don't think that would help.

Yes, I've actually been looking at parks around the area to find one that's not too busy and has adequate parking available. One of the biggest problems with having an outside location, though, is the weather is more unpredictable than the busy lives of our members. If we plan a meeting outside and then that day it ends up raining, we have nowhere to go. As Glen just stated, it may not even help anyway. We were holding meetings at the library that was easy for everyone to get to and we still had hardly anyone show up, despite having 23 members on our page. I always post events a month or so in advance, along with automated reminders sent to emails, so people have time to figure out whether or not they are coming and I still don't get a response until the night before.
Also, we just had a topic about the Greek pantheon a few months ago. I don't think people are as interested in pantheons. I would love to have a topic about magickal workings, but I'm trying to get people's opinions on what type of magick they want to cover. We just had a topic introducing fairies. Do we want to have our next topic be about fae magick?

well shoot, I am scheduled to work that day. but, I sent a note to my coworkers to see if anyone would be willing to trade. There's a good chance someone will pick up my hours. If so, I will come unless I am sick. well I should ask, is this grown-ups only? I often take my kid everywhere I go but since I haven't been to these yet, I should ask this question to make sure I don't faux pas. I'm not terribly interested in fae magick but I would come to the meeting anyway and talk about it. I got a lot out of the short time my ex-coven had been doing fae magick even though I wasn't into it as much as the rest. Other future topics could be: local diety - has anyone met with local gods? I also like the herb/nature magick idea (since I'm leaning toward green witchery ) what about ethics? Festivals (like Pagan Spirit Gathering, Iowa Pagan Pride, etc). divination. pagan family and kids. Recent history (post-Gardner, paganism/wicca in america after 1950, but hey history is important and everyone needs to learn it!). working with energy/sensing/directing/grounding. for that matter, does everyone know how to ground and center? what does it feel like to cleanse and create sacred space? oh I just love talking shop and am up for talking about anything at all. as long as I don't have to work. if I know the next month's date prior to the 15th of the current month, I can request the next month date off from work...

Yes, children are welcome. I just require that if teenagers want to come without a parent that I get a written consent from the parent for the teen to join the group. That's just to cover my own rear. Really, these meetings can be about anything YOU guys want them to be. If you're able to come to July's meeting, we can have the meeting about fae magick. If not, just let me know and I'll postpone that topic for August. I've been thinking about having our first workshop soon and we can have that focus on grounding and centering. Would that be fun? We can go to a local nature preserve/park and really connect to the nature around us to practice. If you give me a list of workshops that you would like us to do, we can start doing monthly workshops the weekends after our monthly meetings.

I have raymond bucklands book of witch craft(AKA the big blue book) and it's written like a school book on teaching basic witchcraft and it has different lessons to get people started. I can bring it to the meeting if everyone would like to look at it.

Also, I have a few health spells and need to know how to use the correectly to cure sickness. I really need the teleportation spell. Does anyone want to hang out and just talk before the 17th? I'm a new witch, guys, and really need some direction. Email me at djomen100@yahoo.com or write to me here. Oh, wait, I need help with preparation of a spell with a proper safety tip for teleportation and other spells with a binding ritual. Can I leave a number on here so you guys can call me?

Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know before hand that there is only about a 50% chance of me making it to the meeting this weekend. My car is in the shop and has been since last week. They had to wait on a part and now it seems to be something else, so I don't know when I'll have my car. Also we are redoing two rooms of my house and I may have to work on it all weekend with some workers. I'll let you know for sure before the meeting. I hope everyone is well.
