I have been asked by a few people if I know anyone who can preform Handfastings, Weddings, Wiccanings, ect. I only went through one person but honestly if I would have taken my time my Handfasting/Wedding would have been different. I was happy because it was the script I picked and I only planned the whole thing in 2 months. I am ordained but haven't got the certificate or gone to the city for my clergy numbers.
Does any know of anyone able to preform such things?

I have been thinking about getting ordained to do wiccan ceremonies. Since the're not many ordained wiccans.

We have a member whom has a celtic handfasting she is wanting done but cant get the person who was set to do it to actually discuss anything with her. She has rituals that she wants performed and I fear she wont like how things are going to turn out if she stays with this choice. The wedding is in late September.

The woman who performed my wedding in 2009 was Rev. Carol Ingle. I tried to find her on Witchvox for you, but I can't seem to find her profile. Here's a link to another website I found her on: www.paganspace.net/profile/RevCarolAIngle. She's really nice and personalizes the handfasting to exactly what the couple wants. I had planned for her to do my actual wedding, but due to some personal issues, my husband and I had to get married a lot sooner than expected. I hope one day I'll actually have the wedding of my dreams so Carol can officiate for us again. I'm planning on becoming an officiant eventually since I'm also a member of the ULC, but I have no idea where to go about getting my state certification around here.

Iowa don't need state certification you just need to be ordained by a curch. I looked it up since I became ordained.

Really? No wonder I couldn't find any information on it back when I lived in Iowa. I'm in Illinois now and I'm still not sure what the laws are around here.

It's the same on the ULC site they have a section letting people know about the general state law then they have links to the county so people can look up local laws.

Yea I saw the page for Rock Island County, but it wasn't 100% clear. It just states that the requirement is "the officiant be in good standing with his religious denomination, Indian Nation or Tribe or Native Group". The Universal Life Church is able to provide a letter of good standing, but I think something signed by members of this group would also do, even if we're not a church. I couldn't find much information on the actual county clerk website for Rock Island, so I may have to call or stop by for actual details. I would definitely love to be able to perform legal handfastings in Illinois and/or Iowa.
