Feri at its core is an initiatory mystery tradition of modern Witchcraft passed down from the teachings of Victor and Cora Anderson, Gwydion Pendderwen, and those initiated in a lineage tracing back to them. 'Fery' or 'Faery' is a rich and diverse spiritual practice encompassing shamanic practices and specific exercies of meditation and energy work. Although a highly personal path, it has old and strange roots and reaching into other lands and influences such as Huna, Afro-centered spirituality, Celtic symbolism, Tantric mysticism, Middle-Eastern gnosis, ecstatic practice, and draws from realms of art and folklore. While the core of our tradition is a mystery, that must be experienced to be realized. www.feritradition.org/index.html

What do Feris believe? According to an article by Anna Korn: The Faery Tradition, in common with initiatory lineages of the Craft which practice possession, is a mystery tradition of power, mystery, danger, ecstasy, and direct communication with divinity. This is in contrast to traditions which practicepsychodrama or psychotherapy through ritual. [The complete article is at www.cog.org/wicca/trads/faery.html, and it answers many of the questions asked here.--vw] Feri is distinguished by some specific beliefs and practices; some of the core concepts are the Black Heart of Innocence, the warrior ethic, the Three Souls (derived from Huna), and the Feri deities. There are particular deities, who are each regarded as discrete individuals who are not interchangeable with similar deities from other pantheons; simultaneously, the Star Goddess, the source of all, is all of these, and all of us. (Anna did say it's a mystery religion!!
