So, to encourage member participation, I suggest we do an artistic contest. This can be ANYTHING related to art. Song, poetry, drawing, etc. If you do a song, please post it on YouTube or something of that nature and provide the link. Anything else can be posted right here on the forum. When submitting your entry, please post it as a reply to this post so that we know it is a contest entry. Now, the winner will be selected on August 31st. This means that you have over a month to provide your submission. Submissions must be your original work and any act of plagiarism means that you will be disqualified and "smite"d severely. The winner, who again is selected on August 31st, will be given a free rune reading either in person or via message. It may not sound like much, but it's your decision on whether you think it's worth it. If nothing else, you get to declare yourself the winner. Good luck, everybody, and get to posting! ;D

i wrote a short poem the other day and i guess this is perfect place for it....
I wrote your name in the sky, The wind blew it away, I wrote your name in the sand, The water washed it away, I wrote your name in my heart, And forever it will stay.

Well, this is a little prose-ish thing I did a while back. Nikki, you might remember this. (I dedicated it to her, since it was inspired by her legs... Don't even ask! Lol.) It's called... [glow=red,2,300]Heart of Gold[/glow] The sun was still on the horizon, growing ripe and sinking down from its molten glory. Fading, cloudless skies were lined with jet planes like a giant indigo Etch-a-Sketch. Although the city was still a rancid mess, it's skyscrapers and smokestacks, easing into silhouettes, turned to an almost comforting sigh, a breath away from all the endless noise I found her sitting on the fence post, red air shining on her soft brown hair, breeze blowing around her ribbon-and-lace dress. Eyes closed, the dying light fell softly on her face. Perched on the hood of my rusted, grey car, I felt like a creeping shadow, black and purple and green in the warm hued evening. Curious as to how she had found this place, I sauntered closer, half expecting her to take one look at me and fall to her death. But somehow, I didn't entertain the idea long; this plateau never seemed to sustain any bloodlust. Silently, I rested my striped elbows on the post nearest to her, and gazed over the precipice, inhaling roses every time the wind danced along the fence line. Below us, shadows were beginning to hide the congealing filth, and above, the sky was a water-colored canvas. In only a few hours, the night sky would be black, and all the tiny city lights would dance, reflecting the stars. I wondered if she knew what that looked like, too, the calm of the early hours of the morning. Did she see how perfect it could be, away from all the people and pointlessness? I glanced over, watching how the withering light shone off of ivory skin, and how the wind swirled waving tresses around her shoulders. Her shoes dangled off of her toes, legs thin, knees bony and graced with fading bruises. They swung back and forth, as satin ribbons brushed past the purple and lurid skin of her thighs, barely visible beneath the dainty lace. She smiled, eyes still closed, soft eyelashes curling onto her autumn kissed face. Before I could pull my eyes back to the lights below, I was met with her eyes, golden and full of light. She had a gaze like every perfect sunset I had ever seen.
Such a disheartened green could never compare.

I've looked over all of these submissions a hundred times now and I can't declare a winner. You've all done so beautifully!

You know, I have no idea. I've read them all over and over again and all of them were so beautiful and heartfelt I wasn't able to choose.
