Remember not everyone here is Wiccan and not everyone here follows the Rede.
That being said, you should follow your own personal ethics and morals. Forcing anyone into anything is just plain wrong.
BTW: I am not Wiccan nor do I follow the Rede.

Talking about love spells was not the issue here, but his response was posted in the Wicca area of the forum, where love spells ARE against the Wiccan Rede.
